Herb of the Month -
Lavender #VERVAINHOTM
Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia)
What is Lavender? Most of us are familiar with this herb. Lavender (Lavandula Augustifolia) is possibly one of the most underrated medicinal herbs! While most appreciate what a beautiful flower it is for the garden, and how lovely the essential oil is, not everyone is aware of the medicinal uses of this plant. Lavender is very soothing and can be applied to almost any skin woe: burns, bug bites, sunburns, poison ivy, and more. It can also be used as disinfectant for wounds. Lavender has also been shown to help support healthy digestion, as it is slightly warming and aromatic and also a lovely carminative herb (an herb that may relieve flatulence).
